Important Notice Regarding TEMPORARY Amended Hours

The Dallas County Clerk’s Recording Office will be
closed on November 16, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm

Our normal hours will resume thereafter.
We thank you for your patience and apologize for any inconvenience.

The County Clerk Probate Division will open at 9 am on Friday, November 16, 2018.
Normal hours of operation will begin again on Monday, November 19, 2018.
Normal Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

What does the County Clerk do?

The County Clerk is the clerk for the county courts, including probate courts, and the commissioner's court. The clerk is also the local recorder for the county. All instruments filed for record are done so in the clerk's office. In the absence of an election administrator, the clerk carries out elections for the county. The clerk's office issues marriage licenses, and maintains vital records on behalf of the county.
