Yes. You will need a valid email address to register and apply for vacancies. If you do not have an email account, you can sign-up for a free email account at various sites including Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, Excite, etc.
No. You only have to register once. Then, in future visits, you log-in using the e-mail address and password you entered in iRecruitment at the time of your registration.
Yes. If you wish to change your password or e-mail, log-in using your existing e-mail and password. Then go to “My Account”, click “Log-in Information” tab and change your password. Go to “Personal Information” to change your e-mail address. You must maintain a valid e-mail address as iRecruitment does not automatically update your e-mail address should you change it or if it is no longer active.
Yes. If you have forgotten your password, click on the link “Did you forget your password?” located on the iRecruitment home page and provide the required information. A new password will be immediately sent to the e-mail address registered in iRecruitment. Please contact jobs@dallascounty.org should you have any problems.
No. Your e-mail address is your log-in, and it is unique for each person. You will need to create your own e-mail account and then register in iRecruitment.
First Time Visitor:
From the iRecruitment Home page, click on “Register Today”. You will be requested to enter a valid e-mail address, basic personal data and a password. Please save your e-mail and password information, you will need this information for future visits.
Former Dallas County Employees:
Dallas County Former Employees: Under “DALLAS COUNTY FORMER EMPLOYEES” on the registration page, select log-in to register with your existing details. Enter your social security number and a valid E-MAIL ADDRESS and click SUBMIT.
Dallas County Employees:
Dallas County Employees are already registered through Employee Self Service (ESS). After clicking on “Jobs” you will be prompt to log-in to Dallas County WebVPN Service. Log-in using your current Oracle User Name and Password. If you do not have a WebVPN account or have forgotten your WebVPN user name/password, contact the Service Desk (ext: 214-653-7900) to have them reset your password. Do not log-in as a First Time Visitor or a Returning Visitor. Reminder: If you are a current Dallas County Employee and would like to log-in from home, you must log-in through WebVPN Service. The next screen will prompt you to repeat the log-in process in ESS.
In order to register or access iRecruitment, you must enter our website via Internet Explorer. You can also access, search and/or register in iRecruitment if you have Netscape or Firefox browsers. If you are still unable to log-in, please contact us at jobs@dallascounty.org.
Registration and Password - Dallas County Employees
Dallas County Employees require an Oracle Username and Password and must be granted the Oracle responsibility called "iRecruitment Employee Candidate" to access iRecruitment and apply for vacancies. If you do not have an Oracle Username/Password or the iRecruitment Employee Candidate responsibility, please send a request to jobs@dallascounty.org. Please provide your Surname, First Name, Index Number, and Organization Unit. You will be notified when the required system access has been granted.
The status of your application(s) will be displayed on your iRecruitment user account. You can sort records by Status, Location, Job Title or Vacancy Name by clicking on the header of the relevant column.
There is no need to contact anyone. If the hiring manager is interested, he/she will contact you. “Active Application” status informs you that your application was successfully received.
Log-in via iRecruitment. Enter your email address and password. From Home Page, click on “My Account” and update the section required (i.e., Personal Information, Registration Assessment, and Qualification and Skills).
Yes. You must complete the DC Registration Test and the Assessment Test in order to be considered for employment with Dallas County. You will take the DC Registration test only once unless you need to update your information. You will also take a job assessment test each time you apply for a different job vacancy.
Yes, with the exception of the Preference section (This section is not used at this time). There are a number of fields which are mandatory and must be completed in order to proceed with your application. Other fields are not mandatory but recommended. The information we request from candidates is the minimum information necessary to evaluate your candidature for a vacancy announcement. Other personal information and additional details are necessary for administrative purposes should you be considered for an appointment with DALLAS COUNTY.
iRecruitment saves this information in the order in which it has been entered. If you make a mistake while entering your employment information, you need to delete a record and re-enter your employment history in correct chronological order.
This field is mandatory. If you are currently employed, enter the month and year that you are completing the application. In the field “Reason for leaving” enter the statement “currently employed”.
Enter your Education Qualification information, listing the Name of the Institution, field of study, number of credit hours completed, and the type of degree you are pursuing.
You can attach documents to your on-line application in the Personal Details section, “Documents”. If you wish to apply for more than one vacancy, please indicate in the title of the attachment, the number of the vacancy announcement and the nature of the document (e.g. Cover letter VA No. IRCxxx) or Further training VA No. IRCxxx)
There is no limit on the number of the documents you can attach. However, we strongly recommend you attach only relevant information (i.e., resume, cover letter, applicable license/certification, etc.).
No. When you are completing your employment application do not use the back browser, use the back button (located in the top right of screen ). Using the “browser” button on your task bar will cause you to loose your information. If you are reviewing a job description, click the vacancies link (located below the browser button) to return to the job vacancy list.
Your application will be saved when you complete all the steps (typically 5 steps) and click Finish. Make sure you go through all of the steps. You can also save your application when you log-in and click on ”My Account”. “MY ACCOUNT” allows you to see the SAVE button immediately, this button is located on the top or bottom right of your employment application. Periodically click “ SAVE” as you enter your information.
Yes. You can apply for more than one vacancy announcement. However, before submitting an application we advise you to read carefully the Minimum Requirements on each vacancy announcement and determine whether these match your qualifications and experience.
No. Dallas County policy requires that you complete a Dallas County on-line application in its entirety to be considered for employment. You may upload your resume to accommodate your completed application. Please do not indicate “See Resume” on the application.
No, if your name is in the Manager or Recruiter Name field you will not be able to apply for that position. Therefore, prior to posting, if this is a job that you intend to apply for, make sure that your name is not located in the Manager field. Also, only the Human Resources Recruiter's name should be entered in the Recruiter Name field. Contact the HR department for further instructions.
No. Your on-line application stored in iRecruitment is the same for all vacancies for which you wish to apply. However, you can attach under “Documents” section a cover letter for each application explaining, for example, your motivation for the specific job and how you meet the requirements of the vacancy. We advise you to indicate the IRC number of the vacancy announcement, in the title of the document you are attaching.
Only “one” on-line application is entered in Recruitment. Any updates to your application will be noted once you click the “save button”. You can attach specific cover letters for each vacancy announcement you apply for (motivation for the job, specific achievements related to the requirements of a specific vacancy announcement, etc.) and we advise you to indicate in the title of the document you attach a clear reference to the vacancy announcement in question.
Sec. 86-191. Required for full-time department heads reporting to commissioners’ court. All regular, full-time department heads that are appointed by, and report directly to, the commissioners’ court and have a full-time employment date of May 1, 1991, or after, must reside in the county. No. You can search for vacancies by clicking on the “Jobs” tab located on the “iRecruitment Welcome” page. Choose the category of the job of interest and click “Go.”
Interviews can be conducted by telephone or in person. The hiring department representative interviews the best suited candidates. During the interview, academic qualifications and professional experience and knowledge will be assessed. In some cases candidates will be asked to undergo a written test.
