The Dallas County Commissioners Court appoints a number of Boards and Commissions which advise and assist in governing County programs. Board & Commission members are generally appointed in January of odd-numbered years and are generally (with some exceptions) eligible to serve up to three two-year terms (in addition to completing any unexpired term during which they were appointed). All service is voluntary and uncompensated. Appointees noted as "Joint" are appointed by the entire Court, not representing any single district.
