Section 1 - Dallas County for Firewheel to Richfield section.

Section 2 - City of Garland for Richfield to Miles section.

Description:
Section 1 –   Firewheel Parkway to Richfield

Section 2 – Richfield to Miles Road (includes the bridges)

Cost and Funding:
Section 1 - Firewheel Pkwy. to Richfield is estimated to cost $7,560,000.  The County will contribute $3,780,000 and the City will contribute the other $3,750,000.

Section 2 - Richfield to Miles Road – planned for a 4 lane divided roadway and bridge at an estimated cost of $26,850,000 (includes all elements such as construction, engineering, right of way acquisition, and environmental).  Dallas County and the City of Garland are each contributing $2,685,000 and the remainder of the project will be funded by the Regional Transportation Council with Regional Toll Revenue dollars in the amount of $24,165,000.

Current Status:
Section 1 - Firewheel Parkway to Richfield  - UNDER CONSTRUCTION AT THIS TIME! The estimated completion date is June 2014.

Section 2 - The Richfield to Miles section is planned for construction to begin in early 2014, with a completion date at the end of 2015.

Miller Road (Bridge) – Garland City Limit to Rowlett City Limit

Dallas County

 

Description:

Replace existing bridge from 2 lanes to 4 lanes (will be 2 bridges side by side).

 

Cost & Funding:

Total cost is $12.4 million with Dallas County contributing $1.2 million, the cities of Garland & Rowlett contributing $622,000 each and the remaining to be funded by RTC and Regional Toll Revenue in the amount of $8,329,692.

 

Current Status:

Construction is set to begin in the late Summer of 2013 with an anticipated completion date of December 2014.
