Description:
Construct a 4 lane divided concrete roadway and bridge to replace existing 2 lane asphalt roadway and two small bridges. The road will mirror improvements done on each side in Rowlett and Garland. The bridge will also provide pedestrian/bike sidewalks on the outer edges.

Cost and Funding:
Total cost is $12.4 million with Dallas County contributing $1.2 million, the cities of Garland & Rowlett contributing $622,000 each and the remaining to be funded by RTC and Regional Toll Revenue in the amount of $8,329,692.

Current Status:
Construction will begin this February with an anticipated completion date of Spring/Summer 2016.

Merritt Road

Description:

This will be a 4 lane divided roadway from the Garland City Limit at the north end (just west of the President George Bush Turnpike), moving southward to just the west side of the PGBT.

Cost and Funding:

The total cost of the project is $14,180,000.  Funding contributions are from Dallas County at $1,403,831, the City of Rowlett at $1,403,831, and the Regional Transportation Council through Regional Toll Revenues at $12,776,280.

Current Status: The project is UNDER CONSTRUCTION at this time, with an estimated completion date of December 2013.

Miller Road - from Dalrock to Chiesa

Description:

To either replace 2 lanes of asphalt with 4 divided lanes of concrete with medians, or make improvements to the Chiesa @ Miller intersection, depending on the future needs identified by the City of Rowlett.

Cost and Funding:

The cost of the project is undetermined at this time and will depend on the final scope. At this time, Dallas County and the City of Rowlett have each committed $2,989,000 to the project.

Current Status: The City of Rowlett is reviewing their options for this project.
