Dallas County Commissioner District Three is without question, the most dynamic and diverse quadrant of our county and is well situated for economic growth and development. Although we have worked tirelessly over the years to build partnerships and relationships, we will not cease in our efforts until we manifest all of the Southeast and Dallas County potential. The Texas Commission on Jail Standards met this morning 2-2-12 in Austin, Texas. After a brief presentation by Commissioner Price, Judge Jenkins, and Sheriff Valdez; the Commission granted a one year extension for over 900 variance bunks for the Dallas County Jail. This variance will allow Dallas County to continue to comply with the extensive prisoner classification system mandated by the Commission's rules.
