Felicia Pitre was elected to the office of Dallas County District Clerk on November 6, 2014 taking office on January 1, 2015. Ms. Pitre brings thirty years of non-profit and public service management to the position; eight years of which have been in my office managing the 13 civil district courts and for the last four years managing the 17 criminal district courts. She has spearheaded my criminal digital courts initiative and is very familiar with the new electronic resources being developed and implemented in the courts.
Felicia is originally from Lake Charles, Louisiana and moved to Dallas twenty-five years ago. Her Creole family has lived in the bayous of southern Louisiana for three-hundred years. Felicia is well known for her community involvement and volunteer activities assisting young families, the elderly, job seekers and facilitating offender re-entry.
In her first term as district clerk, Felicia will be focused on improving the accessibility and efficiency of electronic filing in the civil and family courts by implementing the new public Odyssey portal and making changes to the office’s business process to enhance timeliness of filing and delivery to the courts. Felicia will oversee the deployment of a new case management system in the juvenile courts and will be working closely with the juvenile court judiciary to ensure the security of highly sensitive records. Felicia will also bring her lengthy experience in the criminal courts to address existing issues in the recording and transmission of documents and working with other county stakeholders to implement a new electronic case management system in the future.
