"Top Doc" explains influenza prevention
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a health advisory regarding the potential for circulation of drifted Influenza A (H3N2) viruses. DCHHS Medical Director/Health Authority Dr. Christopher Perkins has appeared on several media stations in Dallas to explain the information to Dallas County residents. DCHHS continues to encourage the flu vaccine as the best method of prevention against the flu virus.
The adult vaccine is given in the adult immunization clinic on the first floor at the DCHHS building located at 2377 N. Stemmons Frwy. in Dallas. The children’s vaccine is available at all DCHHS immunization clinics. Clinic hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments aren’t necessary.
