Public Health Preparedness and Response

The Public Health Preparedness and Response division works to prepare, prevent and respond to potential infectious disease or bioterrorism outbreaks.

PHP staff members develop and maintain professional partnerships with municipalities within Dallas County, agencies and other organizations by assessing the needs of the community as they pertain to preparedness and addressing them where possible.

Epidemiologists monitor the activity of multiple communicable diseases, such as influenza and West Nile Virus. It is through their work that health alerts and other important notifications are made to the public.

The division also offers training and volunteer opportunities that are beneficial to personal/family preparedness and preparedness in the workplace. Staff members are also equipped to provide educational presentations to the public upon request.

For more information about the PHP division, call 972-692-2724.
