Dental Services

All dental services are provided by the Baylor College of Dentistry – Dept. of Public Health Sciences.

Each resident is screened within 10 days of admittance to the Detention Center.  Screening involves a health history, oral exam, and dental exam.  Other services offered are:

• Addressing each resident’s dental pain issue and treat appropriately
• Refering residents to Parkland Oral and Maxillofacial Clinic for dental surgical needs
• Performing dental cleanings and applying sealants when dental hygiene students are present
• Performing operative (fillings) dental treatment, when time permits
