Youth Village
Youth Village is a residential facility for adjudicated young men between the ages of 10 and 17 who have been found by the court to be in need of supervision. It is located on a 53 acre rural tract in southern Dallas County. Youth Village is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission. Average length of stay for these youth is 6 to 9 months. The program’s highly-structured environment enables residents to make positive changes in their behavior, academics and thinking. Programs are offered to meet the individual needs of the youth and include education, therapy, spiritual enrichment, vocational classes and community service. Many of the programs of the Youth Village are supported by the non-profit, Youth Village Foundation. For more information on the YVF, go to www.youthvillagefoundation.org.

A late arrival does not entitle the parent to remain past 3:00pm. If a parent works on Saturday or Sunday afternoon and cannot visit their child because of their work schedule, they can contact their child’s Probation Officer for another time.
All visitors must register at the front gate, where a Youth Village staff member will ask you to identify yourself and your son’s name. Personal identification will be required. After parking, proceed to the dining hall to sign the visitation card. Your son will then be called to the dining hall to meet with you.
Only individuals whose names appear on the approved visitors list will be permitted to visit a resident. Those eligible for visitation include members of the immediate family and adult relatives over the age of 18. No visitors will be allowed (including adult siblings), unless accompanied by parents. Any exceptions to this rule must be approved by the resident’s Probation Officer. No girlfriends are allowed.
All visitors are to observe Youth Village policies and practices. Anyone not doing so will be asked by the supervisor in charge of visitation to leave the campus. Alcohol consumption is not allowed on the Youth Village campus. Staff reserve the right to ask any visitor who is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, to leave the premises. If problems persist, future visitation rights could be terminated.
