No formal parking.  Park at the top of the levee outside the gate. You must enter on foot.

Trails:

Old ranch roads provide natural surface trails.

History:

This is a mixed hardwood forest.  The land was farmed and grazed through the 1930’s.   The green ash grove, in the above photo, is about 50 to 70 years old.  The rest of the forest is characterized by oaks, elms, Bois d’Arc and hickory trees.  Deer have been observed here for over ten years along with other native mammals.
