History: |
This is a mixed hardwood forest. The land was farmed and grazed through the 1930s. The green ash grove, in the above photo, is about 50 to 70 years old. The rest of the forest is characterized by oaks, elms, Bois dArc and hickory trees. Deer have been observed here for over ten years along with other native mammals. |
