John R. Ames was first elected in November 2008 and was sworn in on January 1, 2009. Mr. Ames has over 13 years of property tax experience to Dallas County. Mr. Ames holds certifications as a Registered Texas Assessor/Collector (RTA), a Certified School Tax Administrator (CSTA) and a Certified Tax Administrator (CTA). In addition, he is a graduate of Northwood University with a degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Ames is the past president of the North Texas Chapter of TAAO, a past board member of the Texas School Assessors Association, the past president of the Texas Association of Municipal Tax Administrators, a current voting delegate to the Property Tax Education Coalition and also serves or has served on various committees in TAAO, TSAA & TAMTA.
Mr. Ames believes that great customer service is the key to quality collections. He is also committed to improving efficiencies and increasing technology in the Dallas County Tax Office. |
