Award Winners Announced
We are pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 DRMC Travel Demand Management Awards, presented to Dallas-area cities and counties that are actively engaged in adopting and implementing employee trip reduction strategies and promoting enhanced air quality through smart mobility practices.
The 2009 award winners and their respective categories are:
Dallas County, county inside a DART-service area
City of Plano, city inside a DART-service area
City of Mesquite, city outside of a DART-service area
DRMC Chairman Rob Franke presented the awards at the 2009 Transportation Crossroads Conference, hosted by the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce, on November 13.
This is the 16th consecutive year that the DRMC has surveyed local governments to assess their efforts to promote employee trip reduction and enhance regional air quality. Local city and county governments are assessed through their responses to the DRMC's travel demand management survey, which is distributed to city managers and county administrators each fall.
