At 11:30am on Thursday, January 8th, County Judge Clay Jenkins, County Administrator Darryl Martin and officials from the Dallas County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management had a conference call with Dennis Cavanaugh of the National Weather Service. Based on the most current weather information, it is not anticipated that there will be a need to deviate from normal Dallas County work hours this week.
There may be precipitation Friday morning between 6am-noon, such as light snow or sleet, but the NWS is not expecting significant accumulation. Skies will be clear in the afternoon with highs in the mid 30’s. The best chance for precipitation will be Saturday night after sunset through Sunday morning. Temperatures will be right around freezing and rain could freeze on contact. Please be careful when traveling over elevated surfaces, including bridges and overpasses. The rain should taper off Sunday and no additional precipitation is expected before Monday.
