Dallas County Sheriff\u2019s Office Announces Graduation of Basic Correctional Officers<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

DALLAS COUNTY<\/strong> \u2013 The Dallas County Sheriff\u2019s Office invites you to attend our Basic Correctional Officers Course Class #349 graduation ceremony, on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 1:00 pm.\u00a0 The graduation ceremony will be at the George Allen Court Building, Central Jury Room, 600 Commerce Street, Dallas.<\/p>\n

Seventeen graduates attended the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office Basic Corrections Officer four-week training academy course. This course includes but is not limited to Mental Health, De-escalation Techniques, Suicide Prevention, Inmate Health Care, and Facility Security Protocols.<\/p>\n

Upon completing the training these graduates are licensed Detention Service Officers by the State of Texas for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.\u00a0 These officers will begin their duties working in the Dallas County Jail System.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n

Dallas County Sheriff\u2019s Office Hosts the World\u2019s Largest Fire Truck Pull Benefiting Special Olympics Texas<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

DALLAS COUNTY<\/strong> \u2013 The Dallas County Sheriff\u2019s Office invites you to attend the 15th<\/sup> Annual Fire Truck Pull benefiting Special Olympics Texas on Saturday, May 25th at 10 am.\u00a0 This event is sponsored by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and the Duncanville Police Department.\u00a0 This year the event is being called the Largest Fire Truck Pull in the World benefiting Special Olympics Texas.\u00a0 This Fire Truck Pull has been the largest in Texas for more than ten years based on the number of teams participating and the money raised.<\/p>\n

Fire Truck Pull is a Law Enforcement Torch Run\u00ae event. The Law Enforcement Torch Run\u00ae is the Special Olympics\u2019 largest grassroots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. Special Olympics athletes and Law Enforcement Torch Run\u00ae officers carry the \u201cFlame of Hope\u201d at the Opening Ceremonies for Special Olympics competitions around the world.<\/p>\n

The Fire Truck Pull is where teams of 12 people pull a fire truck 75 feet. This is a timed event to see which team can pull the fire truck the fastest.\u00a0 We have four categories to compete in First Responders, Civilians, Youth, and Financial Institutions.\u00a0 Registration starts at 9 am and the first pull is at 10 am after the opening ceremonies. Bring your family and friends out to Armstrong\/Kidsville Park 100 James Collins Blvd. Duncanville, on Saturday, May 25th<\/sup>, for the awesome event.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n
