The Quality Assurance Team was formed by court order to assist with issues in the jails maintenance practices that caused State Inspections to fail for 6 consecutive years. The Quality Assurance Team’s duties have since expanded to include the inspection of all county facilities. The goal of the Quality Assurance Team is to ensure Facilities Management maintains high performing operations through the “Lean Training” concept. The Team has a total of five members that consists of 1-Plumber, 1-Electronics Technician, 2-Building Mechanics, and 1-Supervisor. Through regular scheduled inspections, building issues are documented and reported by the Team to Facilities Management making their technicians and supervisors assigned to the notated area cognizant of corrections needed. Since the creation of the Quality Assurance Team, Dallas County has passed the last 10 State Jail Inspections.
