Student Loan Forgiveness Program
- The Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) was established to encourage individuals to work in public service by forgiving the remaining balance of their Direct Loans after they have made 120 qualifying payments while employed by a qualifying employer.
- In the PSLF program, you may qualify for forgiveness after 10 years or 120 payments (instead of the standard 20-25 year forgiveness).
- Note: You must be in the Direct Loan Program and in one of the correct repayment plans to qualify for this forgiveness.
- To see if you qualify for the PLSF program, please contact your current Loan Administrator for more details.
- The PSLF Employment Certification Form will be submitted to payroll.hotline@dallascounty.org
You can also contact the U.S. Department of Education: https://www.ed.gov for more details.
