MarQuite’ Mayes serves as a Legal Advisor for the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department. Her career in the criminal justice system has included multiple roles. As an Assistant District Attorney, she handled misdemeanor and felony cases and served as lead prosecutor on complex drug-trafficking cases referred to the District Attorney’s Office by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).  She later entered private practice, where she founded and managed her criminal defense firm, representing both retained and court-appointed clients.
