Annissa Obasi is one of two Legal Advisors for Dallas County Sheriff Marian Brown. She has over 25 years of cross-industry experience in the legal, government, non-profit, and corporate arenas. She earned her law degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law, where she was a published member of the law review.

As a former Dallas County Assistant District Attorney, Ms. Obasi handled matters concerning defendants with mental health, substance, and/or alcohol use issues. She tried a half dozen Civil Commitment of Sexually Violent Predator cases, represented the State in hundreds of hearings, and briefly served as the county’s public records attorney. Before and after her tenure as a prosecutor, Ms. Obasi’s practice areas included criminal defense, juvenile justice, and litigation.
