Lakesha Smith is one of two Legal Advisors for the Dallas County Sheriff Marian Brown. In this role, she provides legal counsel to all divisions across the agency. Her division of legal professionals handles all of the agency’s Public Information Act requests, subpoenas, litigation discovery requests, litigation settlements, contracts, disciplinary letters, and appeals.
Ms. Smith brings over a decade of litigation experience. Over the course of her career, Ms. Smith has served in a number of key divisions and roles in the county, including as a Dallas County prosecutor and a Dallas County Public Defender. Prior to joining the Sheriff’s Department, Ms. Smith operated her own legal firm where she successfully handled hundreds of cases.
