Chief Deputy Office Of Special Services: Roel H. Salas

Assistant Chief Deputy: Roel Salas – Roel Salas began his law enforcement career in 1994 as a Detention Service Officer with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office. He was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff in December of 1996. He was assigned to Detentions, Court Services, and Warrant Execution.

Deputy Roel Salas was promoted to the rank of Senior Sergeant in 2008. While in that rank, he served as a first-line supervisor in the Freeway Management Division, Court Services, and Personnel Section.

In 2016, he was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to the Technical Services Intake Section, the Court Services Communications Section, and the Training Academy/Range Master.

In 2023, he was promoted to Captain and was assigned to the Professional Standards Division.

In 2026, Captain Salas was honored to be chosen as an Assistant Chief Deputy by Sheriff Marian Brown. He is currently assigned to the Support Services Bureau.

Graduate of the School of Police Supervision- Institute of Law Enforcement Administration, 2017.
