FUSE Program
FUSE Program

The Criminal Justice Department is a core partner of the Frequent Users System Enhancement (FUSE) program, which focuses on assisting frequent-jail utilizers who self-report unshelteredness (homelessness) to secure shelter placement, support, and wrap-around services.
The program is a partnership between the Dallas County Jail and local shelters which includes Austin Street Center, The Bridge, and the Salvation Army.
Other referring partners include: The Dallas County Deflection Center at Homeward Bound, North Texas Behavioral Health Authority, and Parkland Health & Hospital System. The Criminal Justice Department FUSE navigators work to connect eligible defendants with the program’s core system partners and other community resources and services, with the goal of placing the defendant into long-term, stable housing.
