Dallas County has been a direct recipient of the American Rescue Plan Act Coronavirus State & Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF). Dallas County has utilized—and continues to utilize—funds to address the public health and economic impacts of COVID-19 on families, small businesses, nonprofits, government operations, and our communities. Under the ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF) program, all funds were to be obligated by December 31, 2024, and fully expended by December 31, 2026. After these deadlines, any unobligated or unspent funds are subject to recoupment by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Per federal regulation recipients are also required to complete final reporting and closeout procedures following the expenditure deadline.
As of December 31, 2024, the Dallas County ARP Emergency Business, Microbusiness, Non-Profit, and Housing Assistance Programs concluded.
Previously, Dallas County utilized the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding through 2020. Click here for more information.
Dallas County residents seeking support for housing, care, or business activities may go to the following departments for more information:
- Dallas County Health and Human Services offer support through its Charity Care Program, Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP), Home Loan Counseling, Housing Agency, Older Adult Services, Weatherization Assistance Program, Welfare Assistance, and Wrongful Eviction Prevention Program.
- Dallas County Office of Small Business Enterprise promotes business opportunities for small businesses, in addition to increasing small business participation in Dallas County contracting, subcontracting, and or procurement.
