    The Dallas County Cremation Certificate Request System will go live on July 1, 2026.

    FAQs, Helpful Tips, and Best Practices  

    1. Confirm the death occurred in Dallas County.
    2. Only upload the complete death certificate worksheet – no other attachments or cover sheets.
    3. Ensure the Funeral Home email on the account is one that multiple staff can access to receive status updates and the issued cremation permit.
    4. Multiple permits can be requested on one payment receipt!
    5. Once payment is processed, exit the application and do not press the back button.
    6. If the payment system buffers - unable to process payment - check "Payments" for status in portal.
      1. Do not process payment again unless it shows failed payment.
      2. No refunds are issued for service fees.
      3. No refunds are issued for permits requested in error – not Dallas County or duplicate request.
     
    Cremation Portal Error Message
     
    1. A reference number is issued for permits once paid. Please make note of this reference number on your file to indicate a permit has been requested and for research purposes if needed.
    2. Review "Request Status" tab to know where your request is in the process.
