Monica McCoy Purdy is the presiding Judge of the 95th Judicial District Court in Dallas County, Texas.

Prior to being elected to the 95th Judicial District Court, she served as an Associate Judge to the State Civil District Courts, unanimously appointed by the then 13 presiding judges in 2013. In her role as Associate Judge, Judge Purdy supported several State Civil District Courts conducting a wide range of judicial tasks, including jury and bench trials, presiding over motion hearings, injunctions, temporary restraining orders, and discovery disputes. She has also served as a Municipal Court Judge for the City of Dallas enforcing the city’s laws and ordinances while maintaining a private practice representing Fortune 500 clients in litigation and collection disputes before state and federal courts. Her legal career started at a national law firm as an associate attorney later rising to the ranks of partner, representing governmental entities in the collection of receivables in jurisdictions throughout Texas and the United States.

Judge Purdy earned her law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, where she was a member of Law Review and earned her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. She is a member of various boards and community service organizations on both a local and national level. A recipient of numerous awards for her service in the community, Judge Purdy has an unmatched passion and commitment to educating the public about the importance of voting, issues affecting justice and our courts throughout the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex.
