DALLAS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 22.02 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $29.08.

Current Role & Responsibilities

Ronith Herman is a Supervisor in the Felony Trial Team Division. She supervises a team of felony attorneys practicing in four of the felony district courts. She and her team represent clients charged with all levels of felony offenses from initial appointment and interviews to case investigation, pre-trial hearings and negotiations through to final disposition of a case whether it be dismissal, a plea bargain or trial.

Education & Background

Ms. Herman earned her B.A. from Trinity University and her J.D. from Marquette University School of Law. She began her career as an Assistant Public Defender with the El Paso County Public Defender’s Office before moving to Dallas. She joined the Dallas County Public Defender’s Office in 2002.

Values & Motivation

Ms. Herman believes that being a Public Defender is a calling. She believes in protecting the constitutional rights of every person accused of a crime and helping to ensure that the justice system is fair and equitable. Ms. Herman is passionate about providing zealous representation to those who cannot afford counsel and strives to foster an environment that helps attorneys grow to be skilled, dedicated and compassionate advocates for their clients.
