DALLAS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 22.02 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $29.08.

Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Membership Requirements

Medical Membership Criteria

  • Be at least 18 years of age and of good character
  • Complete an online application, authorize and pass a criminal background check
  • Read and sign a series of confidentiality agreements

Training Requirements

  • Attend an MRC Orientation within first six months (online soon)
  • Complete “Fundamentals of Preparedness” training (offered quarterly)
  • Successfully complete National Incident Management courses IS-100.HCb and IS-700.a (self-paced, online)
  • Complete one role-specific training and participate annually in at least one MRC training or activity.

Training Program

Volunteers, whether licensed medical professionals or non-medical individuals who come from all walks of life, must be trained for specific emergency response roles. Dallas County MRC has a robust training program which includes, online, classroom, drills, and exercises which are meant to prepare its members for local deployment to points-of-dispensing (PODs) or shelter clinics during a public health emergency.
