DALLAS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 22.02 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $29.08.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Have a diagnosis of HIV/AIDS (one-time)
  • Be a Texas resident in one of the following service delivery areas: Dallas EMA/HSDA and/or Sherman/Denison HSDA
  • Have an adjusted annual gross income no greater than 500% of the Federal Poverty Level
  • Provide Third Party Payer information – underinsured and uninsured.
    • Insurance Card
    • Letter from Employer or Insurance Co. such as Affordable Care, Medicare, Medicaid.

Proof of HIV/AIDS diagnosis must be verified by one of the following:

  • A positive Geenius HIV-1/HIV-2 Supplemental Assay laboratory results that include the names of the client and testing facility;
  • A lab report of detectable HIV “viral load” that includes the name of the client and testing facility;
  • A signed statement from a “Prescriptive Authority” physician, or physician’s assistant
  • A hospital discharge summary that documents HIV positive status and includes name of the client.
