Dallas County 4-H Kicks Off the Summer with a Soccer Based Camp
August 13, 2025
Over 40 Children and Dozens of Parents from Lancaster Area Participated in a Multi Curriculum Summer Camp to Introduce Dallas County 4-H
Dallas County 4-H kicked off the summer with an exciting and fun camp for over 40 youth in partnership with a new club called 3D Minds. Elias Espinosa, Dallas County 4-H agent from Prairie View A&M University conducted a summer camp based on the Soccer for Success curriculum on May 27 – 29 to give kids from 5 – 18 years old an opportunity to stay physically active and learn more about how to stay healthy by eating the right food to fuel their bodies. Along with him, two more agents from Prairie View A&M University provided valuable information for parents and an educational session for kids about gardening.
Marvin Young, a Family and Community Health agent, handed out safety management packages to parents in attendance and answered questions related to this topic. Bria Cooper, an Agriculture and Natural Resources agent, presented a session about the process of planting a flower, where kids had so much fun and were able to take home their own flower.

The 3D Minds 4-H club is in the process of implementing speed with their program, and it is expected to have their families getting involved in multiple programs throughout the year that will benefit hundreds of kids in the sound side of Dallas County.
