Failure to Pay Toll Citations

Failure to pay citations are issued due to non-payment of tolls with NTTA. Paying your NTTA balance DOES NOT resolve the citation filed with the Court. You must contact the court and address the citation.

Plea of Guilty or No Contest

  • Entering a plea of guilty or no contest will result in a judgment conviction appearing on your criminal record or driving record.
    • A plea of "guilty" means you admit that you committed the offense filed and that it is prohibited by law.
    • A plea of "no contest" means you do not dispute the State's charge against you.
  • If you plead guilty or no contest, you are expected to pay the fine.
  • Notice: A plea of "guilty" or "no contest" waives your right to a trial.
  • You may pay in person or online. Online payment shall result in a plea of no contest

Plea of Not Guilty

  • A plea of "not guilty" means that you want to dispute your citation or discuss your circumstances at a Pretrial hearing. An NTTA representative will be present at this hearing.
  • A plea of "not guilty" does not waive your rights. It does not prevent a plea of "guilty" or "no contest" at a later time.

** Email the completed form and a copy of your Driver License to JP41traffic@dallascounty.org to receive a court date.

Alternative Option

Deferred disposition may be available for those interested in citation dismissal. For successful completion of program requirements, a probationary period must be completed in which no additional convictions are received and all requirements imposed in the deferral are satisfied. MUST BE REQUESTED IN PERSON.

NTTA Information

You must take care of your court citation AND your NTTA account balance. Failure to do so may result in future citation filings.
