Notice of Adopted TY2026 Tax Rate Increase Final Vote

A public hearing was held on the proposed tax rate on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Dallas County Commissioners Court, Records Building, 500 Elm Street, 2nd Floor Court Room, Dallas, TX 75202, and concluded on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at Records Building, Second Floor Courtroom, 500 Elm Street, Dallas, TX 75202.  The Commissioners Court acted and adopted an ad valorem tax rate of $0.215500 on each $100 assessed valuation of all taxable property in the County, which includes an I&S/debt rate of $0.006735 and an M&O rate of $0.208765, for Fiscal Year 2026, Tax Year 2025. (Court Order 2025-0984).

 

 

Notice of Adopted FY2026 Budget Final Vote

Texas Government Code 551.043 (HB1522), Taxpayer Impact Statement Notice: 

The fiscal year 2025 (tax year 2024) adopted tax rate of $0.215500 per $100 of value on the median homestead taxable value of $231,333 resulted in a $498.52 tax on the median homestead. The proposed fiscal year 2026 (tax year 2025) budget, based on a Proposed Tax Rate of $0.222188 per $100 of value on the median homestead taxable value of $247,900, would result in a $550.80 tax on the median homestead. The adoption of a balanced budget, funded at the No New Revenue rate (NNR) of $0.213218 per $100 of value on the median homestead taxable value of $247,900, would result in a $528.56) tax on the median homestead.

In compliance with Chapters 111.066, 111.067, and 111.068 of the Local Government Code, the Dallas County public hearing on the proposed FY2026 County Budget, as prepared by the County Budget Officer, was held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. in the Records Building, Commissioners Court Room, Second Floor, 500 Elm Street, Dallas, Texas, and concluded on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the Records Building, Second Floor Courtroom, 500 Elm Street, Dallas, TX 75202. A budget was adopted that will raise more revenue from property taxes than last year's budget by an amount of $23,982,752, which is a 3.04 percent increase from last year's budget. The property tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year is $18,471,336.
