Grant Management


Functions and Goals of Grant Management:

  • Develop a funding plan to support departmental objectives
  • Seek funding (i.e., federal, state, & local) to support departmental objectives
  • Collaborate with departmental colleagues, other departments in the criminal justice system, & other stakeholders & partners to develop programs & complete required sections of grant applications
  • Prepare and submit grant applications for funding
  • Once approved, set up grant management protocols, processes, & procedures for each grant
  • Communicate grant compliance requirements to staff & partners that will carry out grant-funded programs
  • Create sub grantee contracts & work with the Civil District Attorney’s office to finalize contracts with venders
  • Prepare documents for Commissioners Court briefings for grant activities
  • Review program and financial reports
  • Submit program reports to funders
  • Conduct evaluations of grant-funded programs & handle grant compliance reviews
  • Provide grant management & compliance training to department staff, sub grantees, & partners/stakeholders
