Judge Plumlee is a 1993 graduate of Southern Methodist University School of Law. She received her undergraduate degree from North Texas State University where she majored in Real Estate Finance.
Prior to her tenure on the bench, Judge Plumlee was the senior attorney with Plumlee & Associates, a firm whose primary focus was family law and child welfare litigation. She was previously a partner in the firm of Wattley & Plumlee, a civil litigation firm handling Title VII litigation, juvenile defense, and child welfare litigation.
Judge Plumlee serves on the Juvenile board and is a past Vice Chair for the District 6A Grievance Committee. She is a frequent guest speaker at Child Welfare conferences. Additionally, she has appeared as a guest lecturer for the W.W. Caruth, Jr. Child Advocacy Clinic and has also served as Mentor Attorney for the Child Advocacy Clinic, both through Southern Methodist University.
Judge Plumlee’s affiliation with various legal organizations as well as past and present service in professional associations include the College of the State Bar; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; J.L. Turner Legal Association; Dallas Bar Association; Family Law Section (Former Board member); Juvenile Law Section; ADR Section; Annette Stewart Inns of Court; and Southwestern Legal Foundation; Patrick Higginbotham Inns of Court.
