The Lone Star Trail is an attractive 3.2-mile trail that begins at Story Road/Hunter Ferrell across from Running Bear Park and ends at the City of Grand Prairie's Lone Star Park entertainment complex at Beltline/I-30 which contains the Verizon Theatre, a horse racing track, and a minor league baseball stadium.

The trail is now a part of a larger connection with Irving's Campion Trail. In all, these two trails and the new connection create a continuous ten-mile stretch of trail.
