    The Dallas County Office of the Medical Examiner is a NAME-accredited office housed within the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences, a fully-integrated building providing forensic services to a population of approximately 2.6 million individuals in the Dallas metropolitan area and to several other neighboring counties. The Chief Deputy Medical Examiner position oversees 12 full-time staff Medical Examiners, 2 Forensic Pathology fellows, and a full-time Forensic Anthropologist. Medical Examiners are supported by ancillary staff consisting of 20 full-time Medicolegal Death Investigators, 10 full-time Autopsy Technicians, and direct access to all Dallas County Forensic Science laboratories, Forensic Odontology, and Neuropathology through the UT Southwestern Department of Pathology. Our morgue accommodates up to 12 simultaneous autopsies, and radiologic imaging is performed using the Lodox® system.
