Texas A&M AgriLife Extension and Dallas County FCH provide science-based education to improve health and well-being across the community.
As part of FCH, the Urban Health Program - a free educational initiative - our mission is to empower individuals, families, and communities across Dallas County to lead healthier lives through research-based education in nutrition, physical activity, gardening, and chronic disease prevention. By promoting positive lifestyle changes, we help the community to build a foundation for long-term well-being.

Adult Programs:

  • Be Well, Live Well – A program for healthy aging and lifelong wellness.
  • Chronic Disease Education – Learn how to manage and thrive with chronic conditions.
  • Sustainable Community Gardening – Hands-on workshops that connect wellness with growing fresh food.
  • Walk & Talk – Stay active while picking up simple nutrition tips. For Adult and Youth audience.

Youth Programs:

  • Learn, Grow, Eat & Go (LGEG) - A multi-session series that enhances gardening skills and encourages increased fruit and vegetable consumption.
  • Early Childhood Learn, Grow, Eat & Go (EC-LGEG) - A four-week series designed for young children, incorporating gardening activities, food exposure, brain- and body-boosting physical activities, and parental engagement.
