Join the Challenge

Regular physical activity can reduce the risk and impact of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, cancer and other chronic conditions. Peer support and community involvement can provide the motivation you need to get started and help you stay active.

This team-based physical activity challenge gives participants the opportunity to set personal health goals, track and view individual and team progress in friendly competition across Dallas County. Each participant logs daily steps and/or physical activity minutes. Participants receive individual and team recognition throughout the challenge, and top performing teams are eligible to win prizes. This program is offered at no charge through partnership with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.

There are three easy steps: 

Step 1 - Sign Up

  • Click here to register on the Howdy Health platform

Step 2 - Create or Join a Team

  • This team-based challenge allows you to join or create teams. Teams can have up to 8 members. You can forma team with friends, neighbors, co-workers, family, or anyone in your circle.
  • Create a Team
    • Click here to create a team on the Howdy Health platform. Be sure to join Every Step Counts by clicking the button to join a league and enter league code watL-260319-03972. Enter your team name and begin inviting team members to your team. 
  • Join a Team
    • Click here to join a team on the Howdy Health platform. Your should receive an email from your team captain with your team code. Enter the team code to begin entering your information.

Step 3 - Track Your Activity

  • Once you've joined your team and entered your information, you can begin tracking your physical activity and monitoring your progress! All types of physical activity counts like walking, gardening, tai chi, dance, rollerblading and more. Log in daily to enter and track your individual and team progress.
