Felicia Pitre 2021Felicia Pitre was elected to the office of Dallas County District Clerk on November 6, 2014 and took office on January 1, 2015. Ms. Pitre brings thirty years of non-profit and public service management experience to the position, and eight years in the management of court support operations.

Since taking office Ms. Pitre has been working to reform court operations and procedures to bring the Dallas County district courts into the twenty-first century. Ms. Pitre spearheaded efforts to advance the court systems by deploying the first electronic case management system in the juvenile courts, and is in the process of implementing a new case management system for our criminal courts. She has been working to digitize court records for historical preservation and maintenance. Additionally, Ms. Pitre also oversees three District Clerk Passport Acceptance Facilities across Dallas County. She has implemented new efficiencies to speed up application processing times. Furthermore, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Pitre deployed a new online passport appointment system to decrease wait times and ensure the safety and well-being of customers.

Ms. Pitre has prioritized safety and security in the courts by protecting the names of over 5,000 child victims of sexual assault from online records of the criminal courts. She has also reformed the procedures of the protective order courts to ensure the safety of victims of domestic violence. Furthermore, Ms. Pitre has been working tirelessly to assist ex-offenders in acquiring their second chance and a fresh start. As District Clerk, Ms. Pitre helped launch and host Dallas County’s Expunction Expo in conjunction with the Dallas District Attorney’s office.

Ms. Pitre is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana and has lived in the Dallas area for nearly thirty years. Ms. Pitre is well known for her community involvement and volunteer activities assisting young families, the elderly, job-seekers and helping ex-offenders re-enter the job market. She is the former president of the Phillis Wheatley Neighborhood Association in South Dallas/Fair Park and can frequently be seen assisting in clean-up campaigns and beautification projects.
