The Safety Training Program was established to impact the driving-safety culture among County-owned drivers with focus on serving customer departments through education and training in effort to increase the number of safe drivers within Dallas County. Dallas County has invested in Smith System to achieve this goal.
The Safety Training Program consists of:
- 28 Training sessions
- 224 hours of training
- 140 participants
- 2 Certified “Train the trainers”
By the end of August 2020, Dallas County will have 90 trained drivers of County-owned vehicles, which will contribute to the reduction of preventable accidents, body shop repairs and premature vehicle maintenance. An increase in the number of trained drivers will also yield annual cost savings on vehicle body repairs.
