SAMHSA Residential Treatment Grant

SAMHSA Residential Treatment Grant

SAMHSA Logo

The SAMSHA grant awarded to the Dallas County Criminal Justice Department is designed to expand substance use treatment capacity in Adult Treatment Courts

The primary goal is to increase availability and length of residential substance abuse treatment to those suffering from mental health or substance use disorder, reduce the time waiting in jail for a treatment bed, and provide peer recovery support services to reduce recidivism. This is achieved by providing structured supervised substance use disorder treatment along with intensive case management and interventions to assist participants in maintaining abstinence from drugs and/or alcohol. The target population for this grant is high risk criminal justice involved individuals participating in a specialty court, who are clinically assessed as in need of intensive residential treatment.
