The Dallas County HR Training and Development Unit is committed to empowering our workforce through high-impact learning experiences. We provide structured training programs, leadership development, and performance support tools that help employees grow their skills, serve the community more effectively, and build meaningful careers within Dallas County.

The Dallas County HR Training & Development team provides essential learning and performance support services to help employees grow and succeed. Our key offerings include:

Training Coordination
We manage in-house training schedules, coordinate external workshops like NACo High Performance Leadership Academy, and oversee enrollment, logistics, and compliance tracking.

Personalized Guidance on Performance Improvement
We offer expert support on individual development plans and provide guidance for performance improvement efforts.

Leadership Training
We curate leadership development content, offer coaching and workshops, and deliver sessions on communication, team management, and strategy through expert partner vendors.

Needs Assessment & Surveys
We help identify skill gaps through employee feedback, conduct survey analysis, and recommend training and development solutions.

Special Training Requests
We design custom training programs based on departmental needs, collaborate with external trainers, and provide on-demand learning plans tailored to your goals.

Performance Appraisal Support
We support system navigation in Oracle Fusion, train employees and managers, and assist with performance goal setting and appraisal procedures.

Dallas County's performance evaluation process is designed to support employee development, recognize achievements, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Through a structured review cycle, employees and supervisors engage in a collaborative evaluation that emphasizes transparency, accountability, and professional growth.
Types of Evaluations:
- Annual Performance Evaluations: Conducted each fiscal year for all eligible employees.
- Probationary Evaluations: Completed at designated intervals (e.g., 60-day, 90-day, or 180-day) for new hires or employees in probationary status.
- Interim/Off-Cycle Evaluations: Used as needed to document performance outside of the standard cycle, including performance improvement plans.
