DALLAS COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE.

THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 22.02 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $29.08.

2025 Dallas County Overdose Data Report

The 2025 Dallas County Overdose Data Report examines trends in fatal and nonfatal overdoses using finalized 2025 mortality data and emergency department visit data. The report provides an overview of overdose patterns across Dallas County, including trends in substance involvement, age groups most affected, and changes in overdose-related deaths and emergency department visits.

In 2025, Dallas County recorded 571 overdose deaths, a 2% increase from 2024. Fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine continued to contribute to overdose mortality, with an increase in deaths involving multiple substances. Suspected drug overdose emergency department visits also increased slightly, while opioid-related visits rose by 5%.

These findings highlight the continued need for data-driven overdose prevention strategies, expanded naloxone access, and connections to treatment and recovery services throughout Dallas County.
