Mental health refers to a person’s overall mental well-being and can be influenced by many factors such as genetics, brain chemistry, life experiences, and environmental stressors. Some mental health topics include: anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, self-harm, and suicide/suicidal behavior. Just like physical health, mental health is important for overall well-being. Seeking support and treatment when needed is crucial for maintaining good mental health.

The NTBHA is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that helps connect individuals with mental health or substance use providers. They serve individuals seeking assistance with mental health and/or substance use treatment for children and adults 3+ years old. They will reduce or waive fees for those experiencing financial hardship.
MetroCare provides services for mental health, Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD)/Autism, and substance abuse. They serve all ages, homeless individuals, and veterans/military families.
NAMI is a nonprofit organization focused on helping improve the lives of people affected by mental illness through education, support, and advocacy. They have education and support programs directed to individuals living with mental illness, family members, friends, professionals, other stakeholders, and the community to address the mental health needs of Texans.
