In a show of solidarity and continued public servitude, the Misdemeanor Division and the Vehicular Crimes Unit (VCU) of the Dallas County Criminal District Attorney’s Office have collectively raised a substantial $2,000 to support MADD North Texas. These two dedicated units set out on a mission to make a meaningful impact for an organization with a direct correlation to many of the cases they handle.

Dollar by Dollar

The Misdemeanor Division set out on its philanthropic journey in January of 2023. As prosecutors who are focused on Driving While Intoxicated cases, they are cognizant of the importance of the efforts of Mothers Against Drunk Driving and appreciative of what they do for victims of intoxication offenses, so they chose to focus their efforts on participating in the Walk Like MADD North Texas 5K event held on October 14th, 2023. To bolster their fundraising efforts, they placed MADD donation bins within their workspaces, encouraging colleagues to contribute their loose change or dollars to their efforts, often sweetening the motivation to donate with accompanying treats or donuts. Through those donations, they raised a remarkable $900 for MADD North Texas.

Continued Support

The DA's Office Vehicular Crimes Unit also stepped up to again participate in Walk Like MADD as they have in years past, with members of the Unit signing up to raise a minimum of $1,000. Through their efforts, the VCU raised an additional $1,100 to bolster MADD North Texas's resources.

These collective efforts have truly made a substantial impact, totaling an impressive $2,000 raised for MADD North Texas.

This successful fundraising drive not only ensures that MADD North Texas can continue its work but also stands as a heartwarming example of the difference that a committed community can make in the lives of those affected by intoxication offenses.

This achievement underscores the power of unity and the unwavering commitment of those dedicated to creating a safer and more responsible community. The Misdemeanor Division and Vehicular Crimes Unit have set an example for us all, demonstrating the impact that can be achieved when we come together for a common cause.
