Dallas County Parks and Open Space volunteers assist in projects that support the management and stewardship of our 21 preserves. Volunteers will complete projects that focus on beautification, habitat restoration, trail maintenance and community outreach events.

What to know before volunteering:

  • Prior to attending an event, volunteers are required to submit an application and background check (no cost to the applicant).
  • Volunteers must be 18 or older. Minors between the ages of 13-17 can volunteer with an adult present.
  • Volunteers may be exposed to elements of weather and the outdoors, including plants, insects, and dirt.

If you have interest or questions about the Dallas County Parks and Open Space volunteer program contact us at parks.openspace@dallascounty.org for more info.
