You’ll notice a few changes to the Dallas County Clerk’s Office as a result of the introduction of a new: Vital and Records Management System.

This system is used to record real property records as well as process marriage Licenses, birth and death certificates and other documents recordable, according to state law.

One of the biggest changes is the ability for you to fill out most applications on-line, from your office, home or on your phone. Apply for a marriage license or informal marriage certificate, birth certificate or death certificate online. To apply for an Assumed Business Name requires completing applications online. When you arrive at the clerk’s office, your application will be waiting for you and checkout will be quick and easy.

Public Search is also changing to a modern “Google”-type search that simplifies the way you search for documents. We provide filters and quick views that get you right to the document you need. And best of all, we provide full-text search to make it possible to find documents containing text that is not indexed by the clerk.

Help is always at hand. It’s a link in the top right-hand corner with FAQs and Tutorials as well as Live Chat that’s available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

All these improvements to the Dallas County Clerk’s Office are designed to make your visit quicker and easier than ever. And to allow you to do more work from home, without ever having to come downtown. In today’s environment, that’s a big change. And we hope you like what you see!
