Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)

Dallas County Health and Human Services, through the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program, plays a pivotal role in supporting low-income residents by enhancing energy efficiency and providing essential utility assistance.

Utility Assistance
CEAP offers utility assistance to all income-eligible households. This inclusive approach ensures that a wide range of residents can benefit from the program. Applications for assistance are processed in the order received, allowing DCHHS to effectively manage resources and provide timely support to those in need.

Home Heating and Cooling Unit Repairs
In addition to financial assistance for utility bills, CEAP also offers crucial support for repairs to home heating and cooling units. This aspect of the program is particularly important during weather-related crises, where safe and effective heating and cooling are vital for health and safety.

Income-Based Eligibility
To qualify for CEAP assistance, residents must meet specific income criteria. Eligibility for CEAP is based on the past 30 days of income received before the date of application. Eligible households must have an income at or below 150% of the federal poverty guideline limit.

Dallas County Residents who are interested in CEAP can call 214-819-1848. Please be aware that due to high energy costs and call volumes, you may experience a considerable wait time.
