Ready to Turn Your Section 8 Voucher Into Homeownership?
Dallas County Housing Section 8 Homeownership Program helps eligible Dallas County Housing Choice Voucher participants move from renting to owning a home. Qualified particiapnts may be able to convert their rental voucher into a homeownership voucher that can be used toward their mortgage payment. For more information, contact us at (214) 819-6063.

HLCC provides individual, confidential counseling to help homeowners understand their options and take steps to reduce the risk of foreclosure. Our counselors can help you review you mortgage, identify the causes of delinquency, assess your household budget and financial situation, and communication with your mortgage lender.

Considering a Reverse Mortgage?
Dallas County residents can receive counseling from HLCC for a Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM), commonly known as a reverse mortgage.
HECM counseling can help eligible homeowners understand how a reverse mortgage works, review their options, and make an informed decisions about using the equity in their home.
A reverse mortgage may allow eligible homeowners to access a portion of their home equity through cash, monthly payments, or other available options. Borrowers must generally be 62 years of age or older to qualify for an FHA-insured HECM.

Need Help with Upfront Homebuying Costs?
The UPCAP Program provides qualified homebuyers with up to $15,000 in down payment and/or closing cost assistance toward the purchase of an eligible home in Dallas County.
