Establishment

The Dallas County Probate Courts have original and exclusive jurisdiction over all Dallas County probate matters, guardianship cases, and mental health commitments. This jurisdiction was created by statute under Chapter 25 of the Texas Government Code wherein the Legislature created 18 Statutory Probate Courts in 10 counties that encompass the larger metropolitan areas.
